employer refused to apply for EAD

am not sure whether others face the similar situation as mine. My employer has filed for my 485 on July 2nd and got the receipt. But they haven't applied for EAD or advance parole. The reason they mentioned is that I don't need EAD because I have the valid H1 till the next 3 years.

As you people aware if the company fires me next day, I am out of status, already on my 8th year. So whats the best strategy for me. Do I apply myself online for EAD, will the lawyers or my company will find out about it. Also for applying online, do I need any specific document from my company, I guess not.

If you have copy of I 485 receipt, you can apply yourself EAD and AP without an attorney.
