  • Advanced Parole: Experiences

    Hi,

Did any one use Advanced Parole for re-entry to USA?

    1. What are your experiences at the port of entry? Did the immigration officer ask you any questions? If so, what kind of questions?

    2. Are AP, passport and License/State ID enough?

Please let me know? I want to use my AP for re-entry.

    Thanks for your help.

    Same here as well

If anybody has used AP in the recent past for re-entry, please post your experiences and checklists of docs to be brought in if any.

      waiting for some inputs

I'm in the same boat, need to travel to India and enter using AP. Any input from experiences is greatly appreciated.
      1. The docs required
      2. I got only 3 AP docs, how do I use it for multiple entries
I have confirmed that using AP does not invalidate H1, so that part is clear

        Hi Gangt,

"I have confirmed that using AP does not invalidate H1, so that part is clear", is that true?? If you use ur AP at the P.O.E, doesnt that void ur H1-B status. Could you still come back to the country and use ur remaining H1-B term??

entering on AP makes your H1 invalid for renewal or extensions... you may continue working for the same employer, but you will not be able to change employers, extend the H1, or renew it or anything. You are better off using EAD.

not true, check out memos, I refuse to post any links on this site, as they are very restrictive about that so do your own research.

using Ap does not invalidate the H1. The status can be regained by applying for extension/reenetering using H1.

That is true, traveling on AP doesn't invalidate your H status. You can extend or maintain your H status while traveling on AP. My attorney also confirmed the same.
