EAD and AP together/ OPT

Can we (and is it advisable) to apply for EAD and AP together? My wife is currently on F1 and her 485 is pending.

Incidentally, her application for OPT is also pending. Would there be a problem applying for her EAD through 485 given the pending OPT status?

There is no problem and it is best to apply for them at the same time.
