EAD and OPT (Cont.)

This is another follow-up on my previous email. As I mentioned, my wife is F1 and her OPT is pending. Suppose we also apply for her EAD through her 485. Would that imply an automatic rejection of her F1 status? If not, and if both her OPT and EAD come through, does that mean she is still on F1? Will she continue on F1 if she uses her OPT and not her EAD (obtained through 485)?

She would still be in F1 status, for as long as she uses her OPT based EAD.
