EAD denied

My I-765 was denied (based on my admission to the united states as a K1 because finace visa expires after 90 days) . My I 485 is pending right now and I have received I797C Notice of Action.

I made an appontment with the USCIS Info Pass and I was told to file for a motion to re-open.

But yesterday the USCIS told me something different that I sould have just re-applied for an EAD with the I797C Notice of action, receipt for the pending I 485 since motion to reopen takes a lot longer (1-2 years).

What should I do now?
Can I now re-apply for EAD with receipt for I-485 eventhough I have submitted an application for motion to re-open.

I am in urgent need of an EAD. I have a medical residency offer that starts in July 08. Please help.

Can I withdraw my motion to re-open (by writing a letter) and file for an EAD with receipt of AOS at the same time

OR do I have to wait for the MTR to be withdrawn first then apply for the EAD.

Where do I file the EAD (because I am filing it separately)?

I originally filed the I-485 to the Chicago Lock Box Facility but it is now transfered to California Service Center where it is pending.
