i have received my I-512L,authorization for parole of n alien into the US. it says in the travel authorization "presentation of the original of this document authorizes a transportation line to accept the named bearer on boar for travel to the United States without liability under section 273 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (Act) for bringing an alien who does not have a visa."

i just want to ask if this means that for example i went back to philippines for like a month,can i bring here a person who doesn't have a US visa? how long can he stay here? can he also do something for him to stay here as a permanent resident?

Dear Pheobe,

That Advance Parole documents, authorizes YOU and only YOU... to enter the USA without a visa to resume/continue your Adjustment of Status process.

It has your name on it, your picture on it, it is for YOU. Not for someone else.

im really sorry for disturbing you so much..but i just need to clarify.. i have filed an I131..it was approved and it stated that i can bring an alien here in the us without a visa..i just want to ask how long can he stay here..thanks..

You can NOT bring "an alien".

The person who is undergoing Adjustment of Status (I-485). Has the right to file I-131. And that document authorizes that person to come back to the USA without a visa.

This document (Advance Parole) is for the person who applied for it. To be used by him or her, not for someone else... that is why it says: "presentation of the original of this document authorizes a transportation line to accept the named bearer on board for travel to the United States without liability under section 273 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (Act) for bringing an alien who does not have a visa."

Only the named bearer... that means the person named and picture in the document can use the document to re-enter. If you filed it, you can use it. Not someone else.

YOU CAN NOT BRING SOMEONE HERE WITHOUT A VISA. YOU CAN NOT BRING SOMEONE HERE WITH A VISA, HE CAN NOT STAY HERE OR HAVE A PERMANENT RESIDENCY. THE AP DOCUMENT IS FOR YOU.
