I married my fiancee who is here on a fiance visa valid until July 17. We arrived April 18 and were married May 26. I mailed the necessary documents for conditional permanent residence to the Chicago Immigration dept. ,as indicated on the application for adjustment off status.,on May 29 along with the application for advance parole. AS I understand from your web site We must not be out of the US for more than 5 months at a time without filing for a reentry permit and I believe we must reside in the US at least 6 months and 1 day each year to maintain permanent residence. Is this correct? While we are awaiting a interview date for the conditional permanent residence visa is it still necessary to follow the guidelines I outlined above as my understanding of required time in the US requirements? Or after we receive a approved advance parole approval, does the clock start running ? Also It will be difficult for us to meet the 6 month and 1 day requirement. It would work best for us for 2 months spring and 2 months fall. for now. Any suggestions. Thanks
