EAD renewal 6 months before expiry?? even if u have a SSN?

HI

I jus received my EAD in nov 2007 and it expires by nov 2008. I would not be working for sometime now, but would like to keep my EAD open so i can start work by early 2009. I have applied for SSN with the EAD and will receive it in 2 weeks.

Question:
I read that i have to apply for renewal of EAD 6 months before the existing EAD expires. Will i still be expected to renew even if i have an SSN? Is there time validity for SSN too?

Iam at a loss here. Please help

no need to have EAD renewd for SSN, it does not have a validity.
But remember to be able to work you will have to have unexppired EAD card in hand. If you dont plan to worl till next year you can wait to renew it.
