Continue on H1 and use AP

I am on H1, crossed 6 years stay and got EAD and AP. I want to continue on H1 and use AP to go India and come back US. Is it possible, suggest !

if your H1 is valid and stamped, there is no need for AP.

No, I dont have visa stamping with H1, got I797 and want to continu on H1.
Only for going to India and comeback to US, I want to use AP. Is it possible ?
