employment card expired, can i still work?

Hi, I have a pending I-485 (waiting on name check) from my marrige. I have file for a renewal of my employment card and advance parole but my employment card and advance parole expire in april and I don't think the new ones will be before april.
1) can i keep working after april without a working card, until i'll get the new one?
2) I work for an airline and fly often to canada, can i still travel outside the country after april?

2.) No.

Until you get your new AP and EAD you are not authorized to neither leave the country nor work.

You may work with a receipt for your EAD, but not travel until you get an APPROVED AP.

How could you work with only the receipt for EAD card? My employer won't accept it....
