query about EAD

Hi,
I am a L-2 visa holder and have applied for EAD. Am I legally authorised to start applying for jobs and working while my EAD is in process.

Kindly advice.

You can start applying for jobs. But you can not start working in those jobs until your EAD is approved and in your hand.

Most employers will ...

... ask your status and whether you have the permit to work in the United States.

Technically, the only thing you can say is that you have applied for one and am awaiting the document.

They will of course ask for a copy of this document for their records.
