my EAD is expiring

Hi:

I am a physician currently waiting employment based adjustment of status (since 2004, my name was stck in the FBI name check and recently started to move). My question is about my EAD. I have renewed my EAD every year, and this year it will expire 4-15-2008. My renewal is pending and I don't see it being approved before then. Will there be a problem if there was a lapse between the two EAD cards? what would the ramifications be? and how can I avoid them?

you can go to your local district office are request them to expedite the processing of your EAD renewal. Otherwise, you should not work until your EAD is approved.
