Hi Peers

Will the I 9 form be only retained by the employers and it wont be sent to USCIS to update the status?

Just now I moved from H1 to EAD and filled in I 9 with my employer and I am waiting to tell my current H1B employer after 10 days since I thought I 9 form would be sent to the USCIS for my Immigration Status update.

Kindly suggest me!

I9 remains with the employer. USCIS can check the I-9 to verify the employment docs of the people in the company during an audit if needed.

it is a formality. you do not need to worry, just do your part and fill out the i-9 and give it to your employer.

How many years do you have left on your H1B.
Even I am changing my employer. The new employer is not ready for H1B transfer although I have 3 years more left on my H1B.
I do not know how much risk I am taking but still I am inclined to join them.
I have my spouse as a derivative who has completed his H1B 6 years.
Anything to advise me from your side...
