initial EAD

I have applied for initial EAD for 485 on July 1st...my current EAD on OPT expires on august 31st. How much time does it take for the initial EAD to come.
What happens if this EAD expires and still that has not come.

60-90 days. In the meantime, if it has not come by the time your current EAD expires, you MUST cease employment. You can not work until you receive your new EAD.
