Renewing EAD online...

I will be renewing my EAD by e-filing. This will be my 3rd EAD. (I-485 waiting for FBI NC.). All the previous EADs were filed by lawyer of my wife's employer. My wife was the principal applicant and has already received her GC. Few months ago, she changed jobs. Now, I need to file for EAD renewal on my own. (I am still working for the same employer.)

My questions are:

1. What should be answer to the question "Which USCIS office"?

-- My I485 was filed with VSC and now have been transferred to TSC.
-- I do not have the mailer for the last EAD card. I am not where that came from. The one for 2006 came from VSC.

2. Date you last applied for an EAD (or multiple EADs)?
-- I do not have this information for any EAD. I do have all my old cards, so, I can provide the Card#. What info should I enter here?


3. I have about 110 days before my current EAD expires, I want to apply for new EAD ASAP. Do I need to get all the missing information from the lawyer? Is my wife employer's lawyer required to provide me this information? (BTW, he is asking for $1600 to file for EAD.)

I wanted to ask another question...

Since I have all my old EAD cards (with Card#) and I do not have any I-797 forms (which have application dates), should I apply using eFile or Paperbase? (With eFile, I cannot provide card#.)

1. Your EAD card should have the receipt number listed. Check the first 3 characters. That can tell you which office.
2. The receipt number can give the date it was applied for by doing some reverse engineering. But who has the patience to do that.

3. $1600 for EAD is outrageous. Me thinks even $25 is more

Paperfile saves you a trip to the ASC for finger prints. Efile or paperfiling does not make a difference.

Thanks for the info. I think, I will do it on my own -- using paper-filing.

I have on AP and I485 is pending. What should I enter for following questions:

1. (Q14) Manner of last entry?

2. (Q15) Current Immigration Status?


Also, can you please provide link to a recent post which lists all the documents which are to be submitted with paper-I-765.
