Travel using AP

I am currently working on H1B. I have also received AP and EAD on spouse's application, which I am not using. I am planning to travel to India in near future. My question is can I use AP to re-enter US and still maintain my status as H1B for current job or will I have to work on EAD if I use AP to re-enter.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

In general, use of AP needs EAD for your own safety to work. If you want to maintain H1b status, enter with a H1b stamp.
