  • Traveled out and came in EAD/AP. So my work status is now EAD or H1?

    Hi,

I have my H1B extension till March 2009. But couple of months back I travelled to India and back (with our re-stampiing my Visa on passport) using EAD/AP.
My EAD is going to expire on October 31st.
    1. Since I used my EAD/AP on re-entering US. My current work status is EAD or H1B?
    2. If I apply for the EAD renewal, is it good enough to continue working here?
    3. What if my EAD renewal is processed and approved after October 31? Do I violate the work status here?

Please do reply at the earliest.

    Thanks
    Vinod

      Thanks for the reply...
      I have one more question.

If I have filed for the EAD renewal (say by next week), and if it took time to get approved and not receiving the approval before October 31, can I continue working? Will this affect my status here?

You CAN NOT work without an approved EAD in your hand.

Is there any accelerated processing for the EAD renewal?
My earlier application was with Nebraska service center. Do I have to file it there again?

You need to read the contents of this thread.

and you apply for EAD based on your location and the service center that you fall under.
