Urgent Help - EAD expired

I applied for my EAD renewal. The receipt date for the application is June 13th 2008. We(me and my wife) still have not received our EADs. My wife is the primary applicant and I am the beneficiary applicant. We applied for EAD renewal together. While my wife is still maintaining active H-1B status , I purely am working on the basis of EAD. My EAD expired on August 19th 2008 -I just realized it and I am still working. What is my best bet?
