Hi,
If someone can answer the couple of questions below, I'd appreciate.
My EAD expired on 08/31; I applied for a renewal on 07/02. It's been 83 days since I applied and my case is still pending (40 days after biometrics was taken).
(1)Should I be worried ??? Is there the possibility that it'll take longer than 90 days?
(2) I'm a J2, so there's no joint application, nothing apart from the EAD being renewed. Is this delay normal? (It took only 60 days last year and I see here many people who got theirs in less time).
(3)Is there anything I can do to expedite the process? I'm not in financial loss, neither is the company where I work for - I have even to proof that I don't need the money from the job to get the EAD (which I did). But I want to work and my boss can't stay without somebody all this time... would this be enough of a reason to call them and ask?
(4) The company I work for says I cannot even volunteer in my boss's office or have any contact with him while I wait the new EAD. However, I can volunteer anywhere in the city... Is this actually an immigration law or would it be just my company trying to avoid some lawsuit later?
thanks!
