  • Should I be worried? (a couple of questions)

    Hi,
If someone can answer the couple of questions below, I'd appreciate.

My EAD expired on 08/31; I applied for a renewal on 07/02. It's been 83 days since I applied and my case is still pending (40 days after biometrics was taken).
(1)Should I be worried ??? Is there the possibility that it'll take longer than 90 days?
    (2) I'm a J2, so there's no joint application, nothing apart from the EAD being renewed. Is this delay normal? (It took only 60 days last year and I see here many people who got theirs in less time).
(3)Is there anything I can do to expedite the process? I'm not in financial loss, neither is the company where I work for - I have even to proof that I don't need the money from the job to get the EAD (which I did). But I want to work and my boss can't stay without somebody all this time... would this be enough of a reason to call them and ask?
    (4) The company I work for says I cannot even volunteer in my boss's office or have any contact with him while I wait the new EAD. However, I can volunteer anywhere in the city... Is this actually an immigration law or would it be just my company trying to avoid some lawsuit later?

    thanks!

It can take more than 90 days for some people. Dont know why its different for different people. My EAD renewal was just approved after 110 days even though everything in my case was normal. You can put in an expedite request on phone after 90 days. That seemed to help in my case(or may be not).

      forget about my question...

      thanks for the reply!
And a few hours after I posted it I received the updated that the production of the card was offered. I couldn't be happier!
New question now: on average, how long does it take between the production of the card and it being mailed???

      thanks in advance!

        A week or 10 days.

thanks txh1b... Do you mean 1 week to 10 days until the card arrives or until they actually post it? (Last year they posted it in two days but this year everything is taking soooo much longer than last year...).
