  • EAD pending for 5 months now... what next?

    Hi,
I had filed for EAD on 27th May 08. Its past 100 days now and I have heard nothing from USCIS for the last 60 days.

I have fixed 3 appointments and gone to local office (through INFOPASS) attempting for Interim EAD. The first times i visited i was told the USCIS has sent a 'Request for Additional Information' (RAI), and and once that is sent the 90 day wait period starts again. On insisting that I have not received any RAI, I was told to wait for a weeks......The second meeting ended on the same note... The 3rd time I visited local office, I was told, they are not aware of anything called Interim EAD and that they can at best help by mailing USCIS requesting them to send across my RAI ASAP .

My repeated calls to the USCIS call center have been equally futile. The first line service representative is unable to create a service request since the system does not allow them to do so for some reason. My call is transferred to 2nd line representative. The 2nd line rep says that a request is made to send across my RAI, and that I should wait for a month again....

Its ridiculous, I am neither being sent the RAI, nor am I being given the interim EAD....Its close to 5 months now, and I am being asked to wait for another month. Some of my colleagues who had applied for EAD after me, have already received their RAI long back....

PLease let me know if anybody has faced a similar delay, and if so, whats to be done next.

Uhm i had something similar to that, I'm waiting more than 3 months for my EAD. After the 90 days i called USCIS customer service, and ordered a service request on my I765 application. After a week i got mail saying that my application is under review. After 10 days i checked my status online and it says Card production ordered. The EAD card is probably in the mail in less than 4 weeks.

Call customer service and make a service request, they'll make u an EAD if everything is OK.

    Good Luck =)
