  • Is my AP approval lost in mail?

The USCIS website says my AP approval notice was mailed to me on Sep 8th. I have not received it so far. It seems that either it has been lost in mail or USCIS's web update is incorrect and my AP is yet to be dispatched.

Please let me know if anyone is also in similar situation and if there is any advice.

    Thanks.

TXH1B or Pretorian: I would greatly appreciate if you could give me your opinion.

It is over 30 days since they mailed this document. I had moved on Sep 1st and got my address updated on USCIS right away (filled AR-11 on their website on Sep 1st) and post office was also informed to forward mails to my new address from 1st Sep.

On a different note, my wife's AP dispatch date was also shown as Sep 8th. For some reason, on Sep 24th, they updated this date to Sep 24th and she received the AP on Sep 27th.

    Thanks.

AR11 might not have made it through and your mail sent to your old address. The post office will not forward mails from USCIS but rather return it to sender. Call USCIS and find out.

txh1b: thanks for the quick response.

Assuming that this is the case that the AP mail was returned to USCIS, do you know what their usual procedure is in such cases? Is it sent to the new address upon request (as the AR-11 address change is now in effect) or is it a new application altogether?

        Thanks.

If it was returned to them, they will send to new address upon you making the contact. If it is lost in the mail, then an entire new application may be needed.

I had contacted USCIS on Oct 16 to see if the AP can be resent to me at the new address. The person took my new address and gave a service request number. I was told that the target date for this service request is Nov 16, in the sense, I should expect to hear from them around this target date. I still havn't heard anything from USCIS nor the online status has changed.

txh1b: please let me know your thoughts. In your opinion, what would be the best way to proceed? I am planning on calling them again or alternately setup an infopass appointment. Am I pretty much out of luck and a new AP needs to be filed?

            Thanks
