Hii,

I have applied for my Greencard in February 2008. As my EAD got expired, so I applied for renewal in August 08.

Now, my querry is,

I actually applied for renewal through my F-1 Visa(OPT Extension).

Should I have applied through I 485?..Does it have significant effect on processing time?...Can USCIS reject my file for OPT Extension?

My driver's license is expired & its been two and half months. I went to DMV & they are asking me for my EAD Card. Can I renew my license on I 797?

Because I am not expecting my EAD before 16th of this month (last day for renewal of my License).

Please help me out.

you can go to the local uscis using the infopass and get interim ead. Once you get the EAD you can apply for the license.

Except that interim EADs are no longer offered.
