Is it possible for an alien who only has an Employment Authorization Card to also have a valid Social Security Number? When pulling a report to check the validity of Social Security Number should it state the number was issued to a Non-Resident. Our reports usually say this, but in this instance it processed as if it were a valid Social for a citizen. Thank you for your help.

The person does not need to be US citizen to have social security number.
Anyone that has Employment Authorization Card can have a valid social security number. This person does not have green card (permanent resident card) and therefore in the immigration lingo, such person is called 'Non-Resident Alien'. (IRS may call the same person 'Resident Alien' so that they can collect more taxes from him, but that is a different matter).Immihelp Support
