On EAD can one pay his own self?

I have an approved EAD till 2010 & my 485 is pending.Can i stop working,start my own company and then pay my own self ?

If you are the primary applicant, preferably start a company in your spouses name and then use a Quickbooks or similar softwares to run your own payroll and other company expenses.
If you have an EAD and your 140 has been pending for more than 180 days and your priority date is not near the current PD, use your EAD and switch to a better job before the job market sinks.
