EAD Current Status: Card production ordered.

Hello!

like many others I have a great job opportunity with a tight time frame: from 5th to 20th of JAN and on USCIS site I read "On December 24, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you."..

Do you think I will get the card on time, according to usual processing time? Any chance to ask USCIS for a temporary proof of my EAD, maybe via fax?

No such temporary proofs issued by fax. You will most likely get it before Jan 5th. It generally takes a week to 10 days in most cases to get the card.

Ead ==> Ssn ?

With my EAD in my hands am I a legal alien allow to work ? ==> Can I apply for a SSN ??

yes you can apply for a ssn, you should take with you, your passport, ead and birth certificate, that's all. good luck
