  • Left AP in U.S. need to Return. Need URGENT help!

Hi - Need your advice urgently. Hope you can help:
I forgot my Advance Parole Document and did not realize until after leaving U.S. I picked up an expired AP document (expired on Nov '08). I have the scanned valid AP and valid EAD card (No valid H1B stamp). How should I proceed? My return flight is for the 5th of Jan.

I will try to speak to the U.S. Consulate here when they open in the morning but i do not expect to be able to get anywhere with them as appointments currently take 2 weeks. I see the following possibilities:

    1) Get replacement AP document

    2) Have someone search my home for the original AP and courier it to me

    3) Have the U.S. consulate approve the use of the copy AP document so that i am allowed to board my flight

    4) Wait upto 2+ weeks to get H1B stamped in my passport and risk a loss of my job.

I am afraid 1 and 3 will NOT work. US Consulate can not do anything about it.

2 and 4 are the only options and possibilities. Have a friend that has your home key look for the doc and send it to you or get an emergency H1b visa stamp. There are emergency visa stamping appointments available and plenty of last minute drop outs. Keep trying. This is busy season and getting an appointment will be tough.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
