Might need to travel

Hi All,
The H1-B visa stamp on my passport expired on 31st of December 2008. I filed for AOS in October 27. My H1-B is renewed upto Dec 2009.
I might have to travel to India because my father is not feeling well. What options do I have to be able to travel? Is it ok to go to Canada and get my passport stamped?

You could get the H1b stamped or use the AP. Your choice. H1b is better.
