Help Plz - I-140 & 485 pending, Can get an EAD and work for another employer

Dear All,
My I-140 and I-485 cases are pending for more than a year now. I was maintaining my H1 status with my current employer. I am out of project since January 2009. Now due to the economic crisis my employer is not able put me on project and considering laying me off.
I am wandering if I could get an EAD and work for another employer while my I-140 is pending. I am not sure if that will implicate my GC processing. Please help.

Possible but complicated due to the I140 being pending. If there is an RFE and/or if the old employer revokes the I140, you could be in trouble.

You need to consult an attorney that knows stuff to educate you better on the risks as it is hard to explain on the forum

If you have time, read the AC21 memos and guidance issued by USCIS. Start with the Cronin memo and read until the Neufield memo.
