  • Self-employed on EAD, can I travel safely on my AP?

    Hi,
I came to US on H1-B in 1999. Applied for I-485 in Aug 2007 and got the EAD in Oct 2007, which I subsequently renewed in 2008 for two more years. I have an AP that is valid till August of this year (2009).
I started my own company (LLC) in Feb of 2008, and started working for it in April of 2008 (after completing the mandatory 6-months with my GC employer). Now, I want to visit India next month for a short trip. My question is: Will my self-employment create any issues at the Port of Entry, in spite of having perfectly valid AP & EAD? If you have been in this situation, or know someone that has been, I sincerely appreciate sharing your thoughts/experiences. BTW, my POE is going to be Chicago O'hare (not that it should matter, but...)

if you are the primary applicant, you need to have a permanent job in another company in the same job role which is mentioned in your 485 application.
