Hi,
I would appreciate if I could get my doubts/questions answered:
Here is my current situation:
Priority Date: 11/24/04
i-140 approved on Sept 2006
submitted my i485 since 2007
category: eb3 - China born
working now under H1B visa (my 7th yr extension)
Here are my questions:
I am currently working for my sponsoring company. Once I get my EAD, can I quit my current job (sponsoring company) and get any job or does it have to be a job my labor certificate was approved for? And do I need a company to continue to sponsor my i-485 until it is adjudicated? Also, if I quit my current job, can my boss stop the i-485 process? The reason why I am asking this is because I really dislike my current job and am trying to find out what are my options without jeopardizing my i-485 process.
Please let me know of any immigration legal concerns that I should be aware of and if this action is advisable. Thank you for reading and for any advice that you may give.
