    Hi all,

I had been to US already on L1 , got my SSN, filed tax also. I will be going again as a L2-dependant. I would like to know
    1) whether I should change the status of my SSN - how long does it take.
    2) Is SSN necessary to apply for EAD
    3) I heard from my friends that TIN number is also needed for EAD...

Please help me on this.. Thank you.

If you already have a SSN, there is nothing to change there and ITIN is not needed as you already have a SSN. Your friends seem knowledgeable enough to misguide you. You can stop asking them questions.

SSN is not mandatory to apply for EAD and if you have one, it does not matter in anyway.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
