EAD for L2: Should i renew or apply for new?

Hi,
I am an L2 visa holder.I got my EAD in Nov,2008 and was valid till May,2009.(As my spouse's L1 and so my L2 are valid till that time).
I left to India before my L2 expiry in Apr,2009.
My spouse got his L1 extended from here.
I applied for a fresh L2 from India based on his extended L1 petition.
I came to US again on my new L2 visa.
Now, my question is:

Can i use my old EAD and renew it based on my fresh L2 and my spouse's extended L1 petition?
or
Should i apply for a new EAD again?

P.S: My EAD expired on 5-May-09.

If your EAD expired, how can you use the old EAD? You have to apply for a new one.

no difference really, EAD is always new

New/Renewal...It is all the same. You can pick renewal on the form and enclose the copy of old EAD approval and card.

Hey,

I've the same issue. And I've applied for new EAD but same time I've given my old EAD copy to USCIS as my old EAD was expired in Jun 2008.

Can you please share your experience with me.

It does not matter, it is the same application for renewal or new issue.

EAD renewal

Hi,

I applied for renewal of EAD and went for a walk-in biometrics and photo at Texas Service Center. How long will it take to get EAD card usually after this...Since this is L2 EAD, I believe there is no need for any interview.

Can someone give any idea on this. Actually i was working and now on break till I get my card!!!
