Applying for Advance parole..worth it?

Mine is a family based green-card application. My i-765 is approved and I received the EAD. I also received the appointment letter for the interview which is in first week of November. We actually didn't file the I-131 and was wondering whether it is really needed now since my interview is next month and we might get the green-card sooner. I know the advance-parole is useful in a case of emergency if I need to travel overseas, but just wondering whether it is too late to apply for I-131 because processing takes 2-4 months and whether I will get my green-card quicker?

Experts please advise on this.
