I am trying to fill the application for AP, was not sure what to fill for Class of Admission, since our H1/H4 is no longer valid. Do we still put it as H1/H4?

If you were admitted as a H1/H4, it is the class of admission. If you used AP in the past, it is Parole.
Your current status will be Parolee if your H4 I-94 expired.

More clarification - I renewed my AP last year on my own but then my H4 was valid and in Jan 2009 I even entered USA on a valid H4 visa, however July 2009 my H4 and husband's H1 expired as our employed refused to extend our H1/H4 and therefore since then my husband is working on EAD. The AP I applied for last year expires on Dec 9 2009 and hence I am trying to apply for renewal as we have to travel out of the country next year. You said that if I have used AP in the past, it will be Parole which I have not. Sorry still a bit confused as to what it should be and thank you so much for your reply.

Class of admission is what you use to enter US last.
Status is what you hold now.
I think I have answered your question.
