Hi Folks,
My wife is on L2 visa (based on my L1A status) and she got her EAD approved (I-765) on January 22 and Approval notice was sent on Jan 26. It has been nearly 30 days now, but we have not yet received her EAD card nor the approval notice.
My question:
She has been offered a job 2 weeks back, can she start working if the EAD is not received yet? The employer is ready to pay on 1099 basis but for W2 they require the actual EAD card.
Is it risky to take a job by any means?
What is the start date that is normally mentioned on the EAD card for that matter?
Is there anyway she can approach USCIS (INS) for issuing an interim EAD?
We have already sent a fax to USCIS informing about the whole incident.
Please advice, this would help bring us out from a very strange dilemma which many of you might have faced in past .
Thanks and Regards,
M
