  • Expedite EAD even with an L1A visa

It’s been almost 5 months since we filed but it seems that NBC’s backlog has been getting longer and longer.

I’m currently on a company-sponsored L1A visa but I’m hoping to quit my job and move to another company. Problem is NBC’s backlog is growing and from 4-6 months, it’s now 6.5-8.5 months processing time.

Is it possible for me to expedite my EAD/AP because of a pending job offer even if I have my L1A?

    My background:
Green card application, married to USC
    Currently on L1-A visa
Filed in SFO, EAD/ AP in NBC
    PD: January 3, 2019
    I-765 Fingerprint review completed: February 19, 2019
I-485 Case ready to be scheduled for interview: March 26, 2019
    Starts
    05-29-2019
    Ends
    05-30-2019

You will have trouble with this as you have to show financial hardship and if you have a job and can work, there is no hardship..

You could always try, give them a call. They will record your request under (severe financial loss category) and then send you a notice that they need evidence for expediting it.
Send in your joboffer and any other relevant info.

You can also contact your senator/congressman (google that) to help them push things forward.
This is my opinion, not legal advice!
