If you are happy with your first employer who helped getting labor i-140, it is better to be on h1 as long it lasts!. And if the employer wants to extend your H1 beyond 6 year limit (it is possible if your i-140 is accepted and have not used your EAD).

Better dont use EAD and stay as long as you can on H1. meanwhile if I-485 is approved, celebrate...both employer and emloyee will be happy

Put your career first, GC and 485 has no value anymore compared to career experience. If the new job offers better position and/or pay, go for it using your EAD. Its taking forever to clear 485s, if you are lucky you will get your GC just before retirement.
