  • Traveling with Advance Parole during covid (Vawa)

    Hi,
I applied Vawa and on March I was schedule for fingerprints but because of lock down my schedule was canceled. So I have not give my biometrics, despite that I receive my advance parole. I get the confirmation email and Im waiting for card to arrive. Once I have the card I don’t know if its safe to travel during this time. Im not going to travel one of the banned country.
What would you advise, should I travel once I receive my combo card or wait until I give my biometrics.
I also would like to know if anyone travel during this time and came back safely.
thank you for your responds in advance

You will not be able to enter the US if you will have been to Mainland China, Iran, the Schengen Area, the UK, Ireland, or Brazil within 14 days before you seek entry to the US.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

It is safe to travel with advance parole, even if you have not done your biometrics. Biometrics do not relate to your ability to use advance parole. We just had a VAWA client enter the US on advance parole and she too has not taken biometrics yet.

        That is not true.

I just got back from Schengen after I spent there a month. I was traveling with my husband (LPR), with Advance Parole (which I got in May). No problems at all. They just had to verify everything at the airport in Germany. When we landed in the US the immigration took us like 20mins max. They only asked where have we been, if we’re married, checked my status with USCIS, stamped my passport (didn’t even have to go for secondary inspection) and that was it.

Edit: I’m not VAWA, don’t know if there is any difference. Anyways traveling during covid with AP is exception from EO.

Since you are the spouse of a citizen or permanent resident, you are exempt from the ban. However, the OP probably doesn't fall under any of the exemptions.
