  • EAD due to expire - case delayed due to COVID19

We were originally scheduled for an interview in Birmingham, AL on March 18th of this year, right as the pandemic was getting going. They cancelled our interview and were supposed to be sending out a new interview notice but we haven't seen anything yet. My husband's work authorization document is set to expire in November. With our interview in March, this was not going to be a problem as we thought he would surely have his green card within a few months after that. He's actively looking for work and it's definitely more difficult during these times but I am seriously worried about his work authorization expiring.

Does anyone have any insight as to what the USCIS is doing to deal with cases like this? I have tried calling and have not been able to get through yet. If we need to get a lawyer to help things, I'm not opposed to it but I was curious to see what other people's experiences are. I did see where some people are now receiving rescheduled interview notices so there is hope but we have yet to see one. Thanks in advance and best wishes to everyone on your immigration journeys!
