Urgent Help needed regarding EAD renewal

Hello

I am student current on my Opt. My Opt is getting expired on 6th july , i am still waiting on my new Opt extension -i20, what if i could not be able to submit the application for renewal of my EAD before 6th july? Will i be out of status? Or is there any buffer period even after the actual deadline for the renewal of EAD.

You may not be out of status. You just can't work if you don't have an approved EAD.
