  • Humanitarian Parole missing Receipt Number in the system:

    Hi everyone,

Last June I applied for a Humanitarian Parole for my wife to be able to come back to the United States. They cashed the check and in July, I received a Receipt of Request for Parole notification from USCIS containing a Receipt Number and nothing more afterwards. However, when I try to use the MSC number to check for Status it shows:

    Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
    • My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.

When I called the USCIS, they also can't find the receipt number in their system, even when using the Alien Number to track it.

As you probably know, it's difficult to get non-standard help from USCIS phone. I've also checked what tools are available in the website and the only one I can use is the phone number and the only thing they say is that the number is not on their system even when we have the receipt document in our hands showing it.

I suspect this may be a problem with USCIS system but I don't what I can do to get to the right people to try to track the problem.

Does anyone here have any idea what can I do to get to someone who can help me solve this problem?

    Thank you

Update: I also forgot to mention that I didn't get an I-797 like regular advanced parole receipt. The receipt I got was a regular letter with the subject being Receipt of Request for Parole and it was digitally signed by John W. Bird who is the Chief, Humanitarian Affairs Branch (very different from the regular I-797). The Beneficiary's name, date of birth, country, alien number and receipt number were in the body of the letter.

This may or may not be helpful to anyone but I was granted humanitarian parole without it being registered in the USCIS Case Status site. The receipt number I received was still invalid when the HP was granted by e-mail and my wife received a call from the consulate. Still not sure if mine was an exemption.
