  • I-131/765 processing time

Hello, anyone recently received their combo travel/employment card?

    Submitted I-131, I-765, I-485, I-130 concurrently in June 2021 on spousal basis
    Received date: June 17
    Notice date: June 30
    Biometrics: August 2021
No changes since then and now I need to travel to india asap in 20 days but no update on I-131.
It has been over 6 months since my initial submission of I-131.
My lawyer said my timeline starts from initial submission of I-131 and usually takes about 3 months but I am way beyond that.
Anyone had their I-131/765 approved recently?
I did my extensive research online and seems like USCIS is taking about 220 days to process out the combo card.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

If there is an emergency which requires you to travel, you could request for an emergency AP. You could call USCIS to request for an emergency AP appointment. You will then be given an appointment at your nearest USCIS field office. You need to explain the need for emergency along with supporting documents and they will give you a paper AP in your hand, on the spot. You could use that to travel out and travel back with the period approved in your emergency AP. Hope this helps.

You could also request for your EAD to be expedited but that typically at least 6 weeks before you get your card if you expedite request is approved..

If I request this emergency AP document, does that abandon my existing I-131 application along with all other I-140, I-485 and I-130. I don't want to screw my entire application if I am on the edge of getting my I-131 approved on normal basis. Any idea on anyone recently got approval?

It doesn't affect any of your file 765, 131 or 485. You will still receive your combo card even if you get an emergency AP. You are basically submitting a second 131 to request for emergency AP. This is based on my own experience. I got an emergency AP while my AOS along with 131 and 765 was in progress. I got my emergency AP and since I've received my combo card as well.

Just make sure there is true emergency. In my case it was death in my immediate family.
