  • L2 EAD got delivered. The expiration date is in 2 months

We just got my spouse's L2 EAD delivered. The expiration date is May 1, 2022. We expected it to be 2 years from the starting date as in Feb 16, 2024.

    Some context:
    • Filed for EAD in November
    • This is a Renewal EAD. The irony is that the previous EAD expires in May 5, 2022
    • L2 expires Oct 2024
    • I-94 is valid until Oct 2024
    • We double-checked the information submitted many times

Is it possible that USCIS messed up here? And what are our options?

    Thank you

Just curious. Aren't L2 extensions given only 2 year at a time unlike H1 ? How is that you have extension until Oct 2024?

Btw, the end date in your EAD seems to be a mistake. Call USCIS to check. Also just double check the information you submitted while applying for your extension.

They are given 2 years at a time. But we actually traveled outside US and got new visa stamps.

We did check many times that the information submitted was correct. We'll contact USCIS ASAP, just thought I'd throw the question out here maybe someone encountered the same issue.

        I am having similar issue.
Current ead expires on Mar 10 22
        I94 expires on Aug 2022
Applied new ead on September 2021
Friday I got new ead with expiry date as March 1 2021

        Something fishy
