Filled incomplete I 765 EAD form and it came back

I forgot to check one box and the entire package with the check came back with a rejection notice and it says
"please ensure that u have answered all questions fully and accurately, and return your application package with appropriate fees and supporting docs to USCIS address below
please be sure to complete the application fully, submit the appropriate fees and include all required supporting docs"

My question is :

1.Should I send the same form back just by filling the previously unfilled box or send a brand new form again ?
2. Should I send the rejection notice back to them with the other documents?

It will be really helpful if I can get some guidance here...

You can do either. Make sure the form version has not changed if you are resending the same form.

You might have missed an important box like the category for EAD that is whay it came back.

That's right ! I missed the category and it has come back.

Can you please elaborate? It will really help me to get it right the second time.

check the form versions that are acceptable. The form versions are identified by the date in the lower right corner of the first page. Look at the one you filled out and make sure it is a valid version that may be submitted today.

Thanks ! I figured it out and checked it and it seems to be valid.. now the only question is
should i send the rejection notice also when i send the package back?

Update

Filled the incomplete form itself ; didn't fill a new form

Updated the missing field.

When I initially filled the form; didn't have SSN so while sending back added the SSN as well (erased the earlier written "none" and added the initials)

Worked well got the receipt back

EAD got accepted second time.
