Duration of stay outside USA while using AP for re-entry

Hi Friends,

Can anyone help me to understand how long can I be away from USA (going to India for a long vacation) while using AP for the re-entry.

I am still on H-1B and I have been using AP for my re-entry since 2008 (used AP thrice already), but this time I am planning to go for more than 2 months (probably upto 4 months). I would like to know if it will be safe to use AP while re-entry after such a long stay outside USA? Will there be any issue on my I-485 status due to this long stay outside of USA?

If you have applied for AOS and have and AP you can't stay away from US longer than 12 months.
