Dear All,
I have my mother who visited us on tourist visa and 4-5 mos into her stay I filed for her I-485, I-130 as I am a US citizen
I filed her I-485, I-130 in Aug 2024, when she was inside US. Initially the processing time for I-485 was shown as 6 mos. Now it is showing 13 mos, which means it will be Aug/Sep 2025. She has completed her fingerprinting required for the I-485 application.
She needs to travel to India urgently for some dental issues
Unfortunately, since I did not file the I-131 Advanced Parole for her concurrently along with the I-485, now I trying to file the paper-based form separately. I have two questions:
1.) If I file it in Feb 2025, is it worth it. What are the average processing times? Is there a chance she will get her GC before the AP?
2.) My paper based I-131 Advanced Parole application for parents has been rejected 4 times now saying "Application" Type" is missing. I checked and cross-checked. making sure I am filling all "required" fields that are applicable to her case. Unfortunately, the USCIS rejection notice doesn't say anything, except "Missing Application Type"
