Parole document or EAD
Hi guys,
My 485 is pending and I obtained a Parole Doc to travel to india recently. At port of Entry, I was told by the Immigration official that I needed to have an EAD instead of a Parole Doc. I showed him my renewed H-1 but he still persisted that I needed an EAD instead of a Parole Doc. He did let me into the US, but there were a few tense moments for me.
I had traveled on Prole document in 2008 without any issues. There has been no change in my status. I wanted to know if anyone else has had similar 'suggestions' at Port of entry.
My University Visa person told me that the immigration official was wrong and I was perfectly ok with the Parole document.
