EAD and 1099

I am on H1 (Expiring in Sept 2011) now and my wife is a US citizen. We applied I-485 and I-130 together. Also I have applied for EAD. Once the EAD is approved, can I accept a direct contract position? I mean 1099.

Why not? If not? You can work and or accept work anyway in the states as long as they as ready and willing to accept you and or your EAD. You can open your own company like OWN( Oprah Own Network).

I heard that on EAD, atleast 1 work should be permanent with W2. But I can take a part time or a second work on 1099. So as per your reply, it looks like I can have a single job on 1099 and W2 is not required. Is that correct?
