I am an H4 woman at home. I have been in this situation for five years. Been investigating and understand that EAD could be a solution for my problem. Is it true. Will I be allowed to work if I try to get an EAD?

you can work but you have to apply for u'r SSN first and after u get your SSN then you are all set to work.

You are right; an EAD will allow you to work anywhere in the US. As soon as you receive your EAD, go to the Social Security Administration office in your area and show them the EAD. You will get a social security number within 14 days, and then you can work wherever you want!!
